My Journey: Pain, Resilience & Hope
I’m an African author born in Kinshasa, into a family where rigor, faith and a sense of duty were central. At a very young age, I learned to surpass myself, to embrace several roles at once – student, worker, dreamer. Today, it’s this same discipline, nourished by experience and pain, that gives shape to my words.
Writing was not a goal, but a necessity.
After the sudden loss of my father and a difficult divorce, I found refuge in words, guided by Stéphanie LAVIALLE ‘s complicit pen. These life-changing events taught me that pain can also become the foundation of resilience, truth and inner transformation.
A borderless influence
As an African author, I’ve been lucky enough to travel to over 100 countries. Every culture, every encounter, every book crossed my path has left an imprint on me. This openness to the world nourishes my outlook and enriches my stories with a rare multicultural depth.
Roots in Kinshasa
I could have moved elsewhere – to the United States, for example – but my heart has always remained in Kinshasa. It’s where it all began, and where I find my roots. My commitment to the Democratic Republic of Congo is at the heart of my identity, my words and my mission.
The role of the writer
For me, the role of the contemporary African writer is not just that of a storyteller: he’s an observer of the world, a revelator of emotions, a sower of awareness. I write to awaken, to soften, and to offer a different reading of reality. If my books can touch even one life, then they will have accomplished their mission.

The saga of the Heart of Kinshasa
A powerful journey of love, faith, and resilience set against the vibrant backdrop of Congo. This saga reveals the struggles and hopes of a people while celebrating the strength of the human spirit.
Ambassador for peace
My commitment to peace is rooted in my identity – even my name, Tshilomboji, means “Great Peacemaker” translated from a vernacular language of the DRC, Songye. Drawing on my experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country marked by decades of conflict, I have chosen to use literature as a tool for reconciliation and transformation. As a Universal Ambassador for Peace and founder of FOTM, I am working for a fairer society, where words can bring people together where weapons have divided them.
